NX5000 series: ROM simulation PXI board
frameworkROM simulation is a powerful and universal method for microprocessor testing. ROM simulation has become the preferred technology for microprocessor testing and diagnostic applications. Test microprocessor based circuit boards by replacing the boot ROM on the unit under test (UUT) with memory emulation ports. Each pod processes an 8-bit data bus. 8-to-32-bit processors can be controlled with one to four pods (even the most advanced CPUs, such as Intel Pentium, typically only use 8-bit boot paths). The simulator controls the UUT by resetting the processor and executes all functions on the board under the control of the testing program (monitoring program). The synchronization with UUT is automatic and does not require additional hardware or connections. |

Logic detectionLogical probing can be used to detect UUT nodes that exceed the kernel. A powerful node testing system allows for storing known good responses of reference UUTs in a library for real-time comparison with the tested board. Selecting node testing will automatically call the correct stimulus, capture the results, and compare them with the reference library. Before the results of each node test, PASS or FAIL messages can be displayed or further instructions can be issued to the operator. |
front panelThe Windows GUI includes memory functions such as memory read/write, I/O read/write, memory testing, etc. More advanced functions can also be executed through a single command. The built-in macro language supports easy development of complex testing programs without the need to learn programming languages. |
Programming and SoftwareThis board provides 32-bit DLL drivers. Various interface files can be obtained from programming tools and languages such as ATEasy, LabVIEW, C/C++, Microsoft Visual Basic ®, Delphi, etc.) to access DLLs. The available virtual panel can be used to interactively monitor and control the instrument from the window displaying the current settings and measurements of the instrument. The online help file and PDF user guide provide instructions for installing, using, and programming the board. |
